Oswego Health offers Unit Helper Position leading to earning CNA

The Manor at Seneca Hill is now offering a program that is allowing community members to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

The Manor’s six-week CNA comprehensive program is approved by the NYS Department of Health and includes 56 hours of theory, 74 lab hours and 110 clinical hours. Once a student has completed the program, they will be able to take the NYS CNA examination.

Those who are interested in obtaining their CNA are encouraged to apply for an open unit helper position at The Manor at Seneca Hill on the Oswego Health website. Once a community member has accepted a unit helper position, they will be enrolled in the new course taught by The Manor’s Staff Development Coordinator Shannon Isbell, RN. Classes will be held weekdays at The Manor.

“We are excited to offer this initiative to the community,” said Jason Santiago, Oswego Health Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Manor. “Through this tailored program the students will gain the knowledge and proficiencies allowing them to provide exceptional care to our skilled nursing residents and others. Providing this specialized care at The Manor can be a rewarding career and we are looking forward to our inaugural class.”

For additional information on the new CNA program, community members can call 315-349-5335.
