Oswego Health General Surgeon Yuriy Zhurov is now offering office hours at the Pulaski Health Center at 61 Delano Street in the village.
Dr. Zhurov received his medical degree from Kharkiv National Medical University and a Ph.D. from the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery in Ukraine. He completed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center, located in East Meadow, New York. He also completed Fellowship at the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery in Ukraine. This Fellowship included training in Thoracic Surgery, as well as Hepatobiliary and Minimally Invasive Surgery. A second Fellowship was completed in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.
He is a third-generation physician. Dr. Zhurov’s mother was an endocrinologist, while his grandmother was a general practitioner who during her medical career treated wounded World War II soldiers. “I chose to pursue a different medical field then my family members. I wanted to be an accomplished and innovative surgeon who can offer his patients the very best chance for a positive outcome.” Dr. Zhurov said.
