Oswego Health offers screenings and health information at the Farmers Market

Staff members from a variety of Oswego Health departments will be available at the Oswego Farmers Market on August 4th to provide free screenings and helpful information on prescribed medications and other health topics.

At the farmers market, health educators from Oswego Health will provide free blood pressure screenings. Community members will also have the opportunity to ask Oswego Hospital pharmacists questions they may have on their medications. Residents with questions are encouraged to bring both the name of the medication and dosage.

Those who visit Oswego Health’s booth at the market can also pick up a free easy-to-make healthy salsa recipe.

Community members who wish to improve their health status can register for free class that will be offered this fall. Two sessions of the evidence-based healthy living classes will be held. A Central Square class will be offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 6th and ending Oct. 11th. The same classes will be offered in Oswego

An Oswego class begins Sept. 7th, running from 1 to 3: 30 a.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 12th.

The program developed by Stanford University, is designed to help those with any chronic disease, such as arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis or diabetes to improve their health status.
