Blood Analysis in Fulton

Oswego Health will hold its yearly Fulton multi-blood analysis event from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4th at the G. Ray Bodley High School on Gillard Drive.

Appointments can be made beginning Monday, May 16th by calling 341-0094, lines will be open 24-hours a day. Community members can also conveniently register on line by visiting: www.oswegohealth.org/BloodAnalysis.

            This full battery of tests can help prevent potential health problems. The cost of the analysis is $35. Typically, these tests can cost more than $340.

In addition, this year there are two optional tests that cost $20 each. These tests include a vitamin D test and a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test. It is recommended that men ask their physician whether to undergo this test.

            The analysis screens individuals for various conditions such as anemia, diabetes, and others, as well as for coronary, kidney, and liver diseases. The most popular screening at the event is the portion of the analysis that assesses LDL and HDL cholesterol along with triglycerides.

A 12-hour fast is required for the blood analysis, but participants can drink water the morning of the testing.

Checks to cover the cost of the screenings should be made out to Oswego Health. Credit card payment will not be accepted. Community take part in the event are asked to use the south entrance of the high school.

Phlebotomists from Oswego Hospital will be on hand to conduct the blood draw. The results of the multi-organ blood analysis will be sent directly from the Oswego Hospital lab to the participant’s home and their physician in an easy to read format.
