Oswego Health Offers Free Class for Those with Type 2 Diabetes

Oswego Health Nurse Educators are offering a new free program in both Fulton and Oswego for those with Type 2 diabetes or those at risk for the disease.

            The Fulton Medical Center will host the six-week class on Wednesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. starting Sept 27th through Nov 1st. The Oswego class will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. beginning September 26th through Nov. 7th at Oswego Hospital in the cafeteria conference room. There will be no Oswego class on Oct 10th.

This program is designed to help participants improve their health status and better manage their Type 2 Diabetes. Topics covered include healthy eating, menu planning, preventing low blood sugar, physical activity, strategies for dealing with sick days, dealing with difficult emotions, among others. Participants will also learn goal setting techniques, decision making skills and communication skills.
