Oswego Health offers Free class for those with type 2 diabetes

Oswego Health Nurse Educators are offering a free program for those with Type 2 diabetes or those at risk for the disease in both Fulton and Oswego.

            The Fulton Medical Center will host the six-week class on Wednesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. starting January 10th through February 14th. The Oswego class will be held Tuesdays, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. beginning January 9th through February 13th at Oswego Hospital in the cafeteria conference room. 

This program is designed to help participants improve their health status and better manage their Type 2 Diabetes. Topics covered include healthy eating, menu planning, preventing low blood sugar, physical activity, strategies for dealing with sick days, dealing with difficult emotions, among others. Participants will also learn goal setting techniques, decision making skills and communication skills.
