Free Healthy Living Classes offered at Oswego Hospital and Central Square

Residents who suffer from a chronic condition can learn how to improve their health status during free evidence-based healthy living workshops offered by Oswego Health.

Sessions will be held in both Oswego and Central Square. The Oswego classes begin Tuesday, June 20th, running from 4 to 6: 30 a.m. every Tuesday through August 1st. The Oswego class is held at Oswego Hospital in the Cafeteria Conference Room.

The Central Square classes will also begin Tuesday, June 20th, running to August 1st and are from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Central Square Medical Center, 3045 East Avenue in the village. 

The program developed by Stanford University, is designed to help those with any chronic disease, such as arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis or diabetes to improve their health status. The workshops will cover nutrition and exercise, as well as how to get support, deal with pain and fatigue and talk with your physician and family members about your condition. Participants will learn goal setting techniques and establish a step-by-step plan to improve their health.

Those taking part in the program will be provided a free workbook and healthy snacks at each class session.
